The other day I was speaking with a coaching client who was struggling because their sales had dropped off in the last three or four weeks. This person didn’t ever have enough time to do anything, and whatever they were currently doing simply wasn’t working for them or for their business.
I mentioned a quote from Franklin Delano Roosevelt: “To reach a port, we must sail – sail, not tie at anchor – sail, not drift.” I’m glad that I mentioned this when I did because this resonated with my client and we set up a plan to improve this person’s overall life. Each morning at a designated time, this person is going to engage in certain activities to grow their business. For this person it was really more about taking action, setting proposals, and being more responsible. We also formed a way to track her progress and results.
She was sailing towards her destination, and in a 4-week period she had the best month ever in her business!
If you want to do the same, then you need to:
- Start planning.
- Start following your plan.
- Measure your progress and results.
